A Peachy Start

Hello Everyone,

It's been more than 4 weeks since we went live on our website and the response has been overwhelming. Everyone we know has come forward with all their support and we have had an amazingly fun time fulfilling those orders.

But nothing can beat the feeling of having customers who are not related to you by any means. And that is why the highlight of the month has been the Grub Fest which we participated in last weekend.

Dohful Cookies Stall

This was extra special for us because it was our first offline event and we were bursting with anticipation of facing our customers.  We couldn't wait to get out there and start talking about what we had been doing for the past 6 months. Also, we knew we were going to meet many a cookie lovers and it was too much excitement for us to contain!

Being food entrepreneurs has taught us the importance of feedback in the whole product development phase. And as I said before, taking feedback from family is good but a genuine customer coming back for it a second time is priceless.

And to be honest, that's what we wanted to see. We wanted to check how many repeat customers we would get. How many would refer us to their friends? How would people react on taking their first bite? So on and so forth. And all of these things would have taken us months to figure out in a purely CPG setup where the customer is rarely interacting with the product makers.

So this whole experience was very valuable for us. Apart from the fact that we sold more cookies than we thought we could, talking to customers was exhilarating. We learned a lot about what our customers were thinking. What their motivation of buying the cookies could be and last but not the least, feedback on the actual products.

Choco Brownie Cookie in India

One of the most important things I realized through this event was that Choco-Brownie Cookie wins over all other cookies hands-down! And I don't blame anyone, its the crunchy texture filled with fudgy brownie texture. What's there not to love.

But the best part was that every single person who bought from us loved it. People bought it again instantly. They were impressed by the whole concept of individually wrapped cookies. And they also loved our packaging.

One of our customers called our packaging ‘chic’.

Another customer (who was buying for the second time) called our cookies, and I quote, ‘atrociously delicious’. Boy, that made my day!

A few people also warned us that we are probably dreaming too big. But what I like to follow is that if you don't dream big, you won't do big. And if there is anything I want to do, it is to spread this cookie madness all across the country.

Anyhoo, a big thank you to everyone who swung by our stall, and to those who boosted our confidence in our product. I’m so happy all that effort is finally paying off.

But this is just the beginning, and I know we have a long way to go. Hell, we haven’t even printed the price per cookie on our packets, as rightly pointed out to us by a customer. We were so molded into the idea of selling them in packs that we forgot the essence of having individually wrapped cookies - that they should be able to sell individually!

On this note, I will end here. With a promise to keep you guys posted on our progress.

Till next time,

Arushi Sachdeva
